A new tip from China revealed that the Xiaomi 16 series has two compact models. The leak also includes images of the alleged camera island protector components, showing the possible design of the models.
The successor of the Xiaomi 15 series is expected to arrive this year, particularly in September. After Xiaomi refreshed its partnership with Qualcomm, it was somehow confirmed that the upcoming lineup would also be powered by the brand’s yet-to-be-announced flagship chip, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.
Amid the wait, a new leak from reputable tipster Digital Chat Station emerged online. According to the account, there will be two Pro models in the series. While the regular Xiaomi 16 Pro has a 6.8″ display, the tipster claimed that there will also be a Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini, which will boast a 6.3″ screen. The said model will have the same display measurement as the vanilla model (Xiaomi 16 with a 6.3″ display as well), which means we will have two compact devices in the lineup. According to earlier reports, the series will be composed of the Xiaomi 16, Xiaomi 16 Pro, Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini, and Xiaomi 16 Ultra (Xiaomi 16 Pro Max).
DCS also shared an image showing the alleged camera island protector components of the series. Interestingly, the module shapes are similar to the leaked design of the Apple iPhone 17 series.
The Xiaomi 16 series is expected to launch in China first. Months after that, the lineup could be unveiled in other markets, including India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Europe, and more.
