A new leak shares the possible key details coming to the anticipated Xiaomi 16 model.
Xiaomi will update its numbered flagship series this year, and it is expected again to be one of the first lineups to employ Qualcomm’s next high-end chip. Amid the wait, several leaks about the Xiaomi 16 series have been surfacing online.
According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 16 will indeed be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip. Meanwhile, its back will allegedly sport a triple camera configuration with 50MP lenses. Its main camera is said to have a 1/1.3″ lens, which will be complemented by an ultrawide and a telephoto macro.
As for its battery, the leaker claimed that it would house a pack with over 6500mAh capacity. It will be a huge increase from the capacity of the vanilla Xiaomi 15, which only has 5400mAh. According to earlier leaks, the phone’s capacity could reach up to 6800mAh and will have support for a 100W charging speed.
Other details expected from the phone include its 6.3″ flat OLED with 1.2mm bezels, a customizable button, and an Android 16-based HyperOS 3.0 system.
In an earlier leak, the CAD renders of the Xiaomi 16 series emerged online, showing us an almost identical look (albeit improved) to the Xiaomi 15. According to the images, the Xiaomi 16 will continue employing a flat design with a square-shaped camera island. The back also seems to have a dual-tone design in the form of a rectangular element in the lower segment of the back panel.
