Xiaomi is China’s top smartphone brand again after 10 years

After a decade, Xiaomi has finally regained its position as the top smartphone brand in China.

That’s according to recent data shared by research firm Canalys. According to its first quarter data this year in the Chinese market, Xiaomi secured a 19% market share by shipping 13.3 million smartphones. This translates to the brand’s 40% YoY growth in the industry.

“With a market share of 19%, Xiaomi benefited from the synergies across its smartphone, AIoT and mobility ecosystem, as well as strong execution under the national subsidy scheme,” Canalys explained.

The news follows the success of Xiaomi’s recent releases, including the Xiaomi 15 series, Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, and Poco F7 series.

According to Canalys, nonetheless, Huawei is just a step behind Xiaomi with its flat 13% market share in China. The list continues with Oppo, Vivo, and Apple with 10.6%, 10.4%, and 9.2% market shares, respectively.
