Xiaomi confirmed that several of its Leica-branded smartphones would soon receive support for new camera shutter sounds.
A Xiaomi product manager (@Bao_小李) shared the news on Weibo, noting that the sound effects were first introduced to the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. The official also shared the usage rates of the current sound effect options, including Mechanical (shutter sound of Leica M6, 18.8%), Classic (Leica M9, 16%), Default (Leica M3, 15%), and Modern (Leica M10, 14%).
The new shutter sounds will soon be rolled out to more models. The plan is to introduce the new sound effects in two batches. The first release is expected to happen between mid-May and mid-June, while the second batch of devices should receive the update from mid-June to late July.
