We have leaked some specs of POCO X5 Pro 5G. The information we got on Mi Code confirmed that the device will come with a 6.67 inch LCD panel and will feature the SM7325-based Snapdragon SOC. We also said that the smartphone will be introduced in China for the first time. And today, Xiaomi announced that it will launch the new POCO X5 Pro 5G under the name Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition.
We thought that the POCO X5 Pro 5G would come with an LCD panel and a Snapdragon SOC (Snapdragon 778, Snapdragon 778G, or Snapdragon 782) based on SM7325. The shared teaser confirmed that the new Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition is powered by Snapdragon 778G. However, the device will use an OLED panel instead of an LCD.
This shows that Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition was normally developed with an LCD panel but was later abandoned. This is a good development. We do not know why the change is not obvious in the codes. However, it is better for users to have such a difference. It has more vivid color saturation and lower power consumption than an OLED panel LCD. In terms of visual experience, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition is impressive.

If it ended with _cmd, we would think that an OLED or AMOLED panel was used. It is clear that Xiaomi has developed the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition with an LCD panel, but has given up on it. The device is now powered by an OLED panel. Normally, it was planned to use a 6.67-inch 1080*2400 120Hz LCD panel. We’ve seen this panel on the POCO X3 Pro as well.
