Xiaomi introduces various products and all the smartphones have a limited time of support. We mostly share the devices won’t be getting the software support anymore but this time around Xiaomi stops service center support for various devices.
No support in service centers
For a variety of reasons, you might want to take your smartphone to the service center, but keep in mind that you won’t have hardware repair support any longer, so you won’t be able to change your battery, display, or other components. Mi 9 Transparent Edition, Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi K20 Pro Premium are the another devices that won’t get support alongisde Mi 8 SE and Mi 9 SE.
Also note that Xiaomi made this service center announcement in China. We don’t know how Xiaomi will operate the service centers globally.
End of support
Since Xiaomi stopped manufacturing the devices, they no longer supply the spare parts required for after sales service. Xiaomi doesn’t continue offering after sales maintenance services for older devices anymore. Xiaomi has already stopped software support for Mi 8 SE Mi 9 SE and Mi 9 a couple months ago.
Mi 8 SE and Mi 9 SE are already in the Xiaomi’s EOS Product List. The devices in this list won’t get any software updates including security patches. Consider upgrading to a newer device if you think that older ones have security flaws. Xiaomi updated this list last time at 2022-09-22.
