Xiaomi passed the 3C certification for the upcoming 200W charging head, soon after releasing Xiaomi 12 with 120W fast-charging support.
Xiaomi 200W charging head spotted on 3C certification
Xiaomi’s new charging head MDY-13-EU has been certified by 3C and supports up to 20V 10A charging. This new 200W charging head can charge your devices in an instant, meaning that your device is most likely to be fully charged in around 10-12 minutes. Xiaomi claims that this charging technology can charge a 4000mAh battery in 8 minutes from 0 to 100 and to prove this claim, the company used a Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro with a 4,000mAh battery, and then proceeded to charge it to %10 in 44 seconds, %50 in 3 minutes and %100 in 7 minutes and 57 seconds.
This will make it easier for users to charge their phones much faster in urgent situations, especially as more and more flagship smartphones come equipped with high-powered chargers. Aside from the 200W fast-charging speed, this 200W charging head is backward compatible, which means that it can charge devices in speeds such as 15W, 27W, 66W, 170W and 200W. Of course, the company will have to make adjustments so that their devices may support this charging head efficiently, and certain trade-offs on the device such as thicker body, smaller battery and so on are expected.
There is no official statement however we might see this new charger with Xiaomi 13, and if not, soon on other upcoming devices. Some users may worry that it might weaken the battery given the extreme speed, however, Xiaomi is most likely to optimize this charging head and come up with certain protective measures in order to avoid such issues. The company previously made statements about it and we strongly suggest you check it out on our Ultra fast charging killing Xiaomi phone’s battery life? content to ease your worries.
