Xiaomi is getting ready to launch a new edition of the affordable Redmi Pad that has been released in 2022. The marketing name is still unknown but we know a new variant of Redmi Pad is coming up soon, it’s very likely to be branded as Redmi Pad 2. Early information about the upcoming tablet have emerged, including its appearance in the EEC certification.
Redmi Pad on EEC certification
The EEC certification for the new Redmi Pad lists the notification number as “KZoooooo6240” and the model number as “23073RPBFG“. According to a post shared by Digital Chat Station (a tech blogger on Weibo), this tablet could be unveiled in Q3 2023 and has a model name of Redmi M84. The codename of Redmi Pad 2 is “xun“.
The certification document does not contain in-depth details about the tablet’s specs, but we do know that it will be equipped with a Snapdragon chipset; whereas, Redmi Pad that debuted a year ago came with MediaTek Helio G99 chipset. The exact processor that will be present on the upcoming Redmi Pad is still unknown but we don’t expect it to be a flagship once since tablets from Redmi will be sold as budget friendly devices.
